Temprite’s pleated Clean-Up Filters are best suited for cleaning up very dirty systems. Its pleated design has a lower oil separation efficiency compared to the standard efficiency filter, but the clean-up filter provides nearly 10 times the surface area of the standard efficiency filter. The extra filter surface area allows the clean-up filter to last longer than the standard efficiency filter while capturing the high amount of large micron dirt particles generated by a compressor burnout. After a compressor burnout, install a Clean-Up Filter to capture these large contaminants. Once the large contaminants are removed, switch to the standard efficiency filter for high efficiency separation of small micron particles and oil aerosols. Using a Clean-Up Filter in conjunction with a standard efficiency filter will return the oil to near-virgin state.
